The dark lines, parallel within any single grain, are the Neumann lines. The mottled appearance of the corner grains indicates the non-homogeneity of the ferrite due to the unequal distribution of the phosphorous. Specimen: W1 (Table 1), longitudinal section. Etching, 10 per cent. alcoholic nitric acid. X 100.
