I am designing for a younger generation of home decorators with an eye for unique style, an appreciation for quality, green/sustainable living, and art. My branding/identity strategies will reflect these points which will be finalized and used in future retail.

  The Art of Storytelling

  I wish to illustrate a sequence of random events with a single character using a specific coding system. All of the codes will be animated and the actions that take place will reflect both the character and the environment that controls them. The code language will be included as a montage of voices as the character moves. The animations as well as the coding language will dictate my character’s daily life like words and illustrations would dictate a picture book.

  What defines a hat?

  Is a hat just an accessory, or can it be something more? How far can one distort the structure of a hat? For this [Spring] semester I want to explore the make up of a hat. Some hats allow the wearer to blend in and others allow the wearer to stand out. I have always held this accessory dear to me... I want to focus on reconstructing the form of a hat and the wearer’s interaction with it. I want to leave how the hat sits and attaches to the wearer open ended; this will allow each wearer to put his/her own spin on it.

  Habitual Chaos

  Chaos breeds thought. Thought gives birth to life. Humans are wired to find order in everything they do, and the largest examples is through habits. Habits are a regular tendancy or practice that make up more than 40% of people’s actions. The brain forms habits through “chunking” (a process in which a sequence of actions are converted into an automatic routine). And while habits are beneficial in preventing the brain from shutting down, they limiting in fostering new thoughts. Chaos forces humans to create new ideas and therefore moves mankind forward. My goal is to create chaos through my designs that alter our habits and our reality.

  Public Enemies

  This project began with an interest in 1930s bank robbers, such as Bonnie and Clyde and John Dillinger. When I read about the bank robbers of the 1930s, I found their stories to be not only violent and tragic, but also romantic and exciting. Not only did I enjoy the history, but I also like the style and culture of the 1930s.
  As the project has progressed on I’ve decided to combine the past with the present. What do bank robberies look like today? They can be Hackers, CEOs of their own banks or companies, or even go the traditional way of just walking into a bank with guns. I want to take the look and style of the 30s and juxtapose it with the present to create visuals that show bank robbery in a contemporary way.
